The extension of the blue line will allow for the addition of 25,000 housing units in Montreal, according to the administration of the City of Montreal.

The metropolis plans to partner with a developer to build thousands of units, public spaces, and a network of bike paths.

The Langelier area is undergoing a transformation. With the arrival of the Blue Metro line and the adoption of a draft Land Use and Development Master Plan (PDAD), the City of Montreal is outlining its ambitious vision for the area's development in the coming years.

The City aims to build a dynamic, resilient, and inclusive neighborhood while preserving Saint-Léonard's unique identity. The imminent adoption of a planning document will guide public action and oversee real estate development projects in the Langelier area.

The master plan is a reference document and was developed based on the needs expressed by the community in 2023 and is consistent with the City's plans and policies.

Thousands of housing units will be built around the Blue Line extension.

Montreal plans to use two new Quebec laws to accelerate the work.

A green neighborhood, including public squares and bike paths, will be created around Langelier station.

This is what we learn from the "Langelier Master Plan," a document outlining the upcoming work in this area of eastern Montreal.

The document will be submitted to the Saint-Léonard borough council in the coming days, increasing the potential housing around the five future stations from 18,500 to 25,000.

A public consultation will first be held.
