Here is a directory of the best outdoor dance floors in Lachine, LaSalle, Verdun, and the Southwest borough of Montreal.

Whether you're a fan of salsa, swing, or line dancing, this summer guide offers a wide range of free activities to get you moving under the stars.


The boroughs of Lachine, LaSalle, Verdun, and the Southwest are full of accessible dance floors, free of charge and often animated by passionate DJs or instructors.


In Lachine

The Lachine dance floor, an outdoor space along the Pointe of René-Lévesque Park, offers a rich and varied summer program.Workshops are organized by the Lachine Recreation Center in partnership with the borough and are free for all ages and skill levels.

  • Location: Lachine dance floor, along the Pointe of René-Lévesque Park.

  • Workshops and Schedule:

    • Until August 18, Monday: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM – Line dancing

    • Until August 19, Tuesday: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM – Argentine tango

    • Until August 20, Wednesday: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM – Folk dance for adults

    • Until August 20, Wednesday: 7:35 PM – 8:35 PM – Classical dance for adults

    • Until August 21, Thursday: 7:00 PM – 7:45 PM – Zumba Gold (for seniors)

    • Until August 21, Thursday: 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Zumba Fiesta


In LaSalle

The LaSalle dance floor offers a wide variety of free summer activities for everyone.These activities are part of the “L’été en cavale” program and are mostly offered by partners such as the Centre du Vieux Moulin de LaSalle.

  • Location: LaSalle dance floor, at the corner of LaSalle Boulevard and Bishop-Power, mainly at the Parc des Rapides dance floor.

  • Organizer: Partners of the “L’été en cavale” program, including the Centre du Vieux Moulin de LaSalle.

  • Workshops and Schedule (Parc des Rapides):

    • Until August 25, Monday: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM – Traditional African dances and stretching

    • Until August 26, Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Zumba Gold (for seniors)

    • Until August 26, Tuesday: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Latin dance

    • Until August 28, Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Zumba for kids

    • Until August 27, Wednesday: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Zumba for adults

    • Until August 29, Friday: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Cardio drums

In Verdun

The John-Gallagher block dance floor in Verdun is a landmark offering a wide range of free dance workshops throughout the summer.These activities, set in a charming natural environment, promote social cohesion and are organized in collaboration with local organizations and artists from the borough.

In the Côte-Saint-Paul neighborhood, free Zumba activities are offered for all ages.

  • Organizer: Monseigneur Pigeon Recreation Center

  • Workshops and Schedule:

    • Until August 24, Wednesday: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM – Zumba (adults)

    • Until August 24, Thursday: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Zumba (for all)
