The City of Montreal confirms the modernization of the iconic Jeanne Mance Park, at the foothills of Mount Royal.
In addition to a fenced dog exercise area, the project includes a multipurpose field, renovations of the chalet, the wading pool, and the crossroads area where water games will now be located.
The work will be carried out from September 2024 to June 2026, for a maximum amount of $27 million.
The development of a fenced dog park in the southern sector near Duluth Avenue is also planned.
It will be accessible starting in the spring of 2025. This is a temporary location until its relocation.
"Jeanne-Mance Park and Côte Placide form an entity located at the gateway to downtown, at the foot of Mount Royal and at the intersection of three boroughs: Plateau-Mont-Royal, Ville-Marie, and Outremont. Our administration is working to enhance this iconic place by highlighting its alignments of mature trees, its gathering lawns, and its varied sports facilities that offer stunning views of the mountain," emphasized Alex Norris, member of the executive committee and advisor associated with major parks and Mount Royal.
