Sainte-Geneviève School in LaSalle is currently undergoing major renovation work.
The work, which began in October 2024, is expected to be completed by the start of the 2026 school year.
This ambitious project includes the complete renovation of classrooms, administrative offices, and landscaping.
Sainte-Geneviève School, located at 7520 Édouard Street in LaSalle, is undergoing a major transformation thanks to significant renovation work that began on October 21, 2024.
This work, supervised by the Marguerite-Bourgeoys school service center, aims to modernize the establishment.
The major renovation work is scheduled to be completed by 2026 with a total budget of $18 million.
The clay bricks and concrete blocks that make up the walls will be removed and replaced, as will the roof of the school on Édouard Street. Technically, under provincial law, this is not considered a 'major project'.
The renovation work includes several important aspects:
New envelope and windows: The school will benefit from a new exterior envelope as well as new windows, thus improving the building's energy efficiency.
Interior renovation: The classrooms, administrative offices, washrooms, and daycare services will be fully renovated to provide modern and functional spaces.
Landscaping: New landscaping will be carried out at the front of the building, creating a welcoming and pleasant environment for students and staff.
Work schedule
January to March 2025: Architectural demolition on the floors and demolition of the rest
First quarter of 2025: Excavation work and standardization of the structure
End of winter 2025: Installation of the first steel reinforcements on three levels
The major renovation work at Sainte-Geneviève School in LaSalle represents a significant investment in the future of our children's education.
By modernizing the infrastructure and creating adapted learning spaces, this project will help provide students with an environment conducive to their development and growth.
