The real estate project of the Radio-Canada Tower in Montreal, named Le Quartier des Lumières, and led by Groupe Mach, has begun its transformation.

The project has undergone several adjustments over time, particularly due to the pandemic which changed the rules in real estate and the adoption of the specific planning program (PPU) for the Faubourgs in 2021, limiting the height of future buildings.

However, the iconic 23-story skyscraper will remain at the center of the redevelopment, harmonized with the rest of the project. Its content is yet to be determined.

Several key elements have been retained, such as the large public square, the vast underground parking, the spaces designed for large retail areas, social housing, the park (sponge), and the primary school, a concept for an urban school with 24 classes developed in collaboration with the City of Montreal and the school service center, to whom the land has been given.

The project will change the face of this area of the city, and Groupe Mach, led by Vincent Chiara, is taking it to the next level with this multi-use project, by far the most ambitious and visible on the group's portfolio, one of the biggest players in the real estate market in Montreal.
