The City of Montreal continues to transform its public spaces to provide quality living environments for its residents.

Among recent projects, the Monseigneur-Langlois Park in Verdun and the L'Épervière Park in L'Île-des-Sœurs are undergoing significant renovations.

Monseigneur-Langlois Park in Verdun

Located between LaSalle Boulevard and Wellington Street, Monseigneur-Langlois Park is primarily used by children aged 12 and under.

In 2025, the borough of Verdun will redesign this park to make it more friendly, accessible, and inclusive.

Improvement of the play module: The facilities will be modernized to offer activities suitable for all generations.

Furniture and accessibility: Urban furniture will be replaced and sidewalks widened to allow for universal accessibility.

Picnic and meeting areas: New areas will be developed to encourage gatherings and activities.

An online survey has been launched to gather the needs, priorities, and ideas of residents regarding the redevelopment of Monseigneur-Langlois Park.

The results of this survey will guide the final decisions of the project.

Epervière Park in Île-des-Sœurs

Epervière Park, located on Vigie Street in the Île-des-Sœurs neighborhood, is also subject to a redevelopment project.

This park will be transformed to provide a more friendly, accessible, and inclusive living space.

The planned work includes

Tree planting and seeding: To improve biodiversity and provide pleasant green spaces

Soil demineralization: To reduce impermeable surfaces and promote rainwater infiltration

Construction and renovation of cabins: To offer modern and functional facilities

Replacement of the lighting system: To enhance safety and aesthetics of the park

Addition of play modules and water games: To provide recreational activities suitable for all ages

Replacement or addition of urban furniture: Public benches, streetlights, and other equipment will be modernized.

All these adjustments are made in collaboration with the residents and are based on the guidelines set by the district.
