During a recent information session, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) presented the overall progress of the blue line extension and, in particular, the upcoming construction steps around the future station located in the Anjou area.

According to STM estimates, up to 25,600 users would take the extended section during each peak hour, which would help remove 5,300 cars from the road.

The blue line extension of the metro is expected to be completed in the fall of 2029.

The information shared during the meeting particularly concerned the implementation of the two access points for the future Anjou metro station.

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and the owner of the Galeries d’Anjou have signed an agreement to expropriate part of the shopping center's land to build a future station on the blue line.

It is estimated that about 20,000 - 25,000 users will take the future route of the blue line extension every morning.

The construction sites will bring together "approximately 2000 workers who will be spread across about fifteen separate sites".

Construction is still at a preparatory phase around the future station, temporarily named Anjou.
