This initiative aims to strengthen the local economy, reduce territorial disparities, and provide targeted support to the most vulnerable boroughs

This funding, granted through the Support Program for Boroughs for the Revitalization of Commercial Sectors Outside SDCs, will help implement 15 projects across as many boroughs.

Each borough will receive tailored support, ranging from $75,000 to $173,000.

Among the top recipients are Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce ($173,000), Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension ($164,000), and Le Plateau-Mont-Royal ($145,000).

These funds will be used to organize business communities, encourage collaborative planning, and implement sustainable and inclusive projects.

Special attention is given to boroughs facing greater economic challenges.

These areas will receive enhanced support to better address their specific realities.

This approach aims to reduce territorial inequalities while stimulating local economic activity.

“We are continuing our efforts to support our local economy with a broader and more inclusive vision,” said Luc Rabouin, Executive Committee member responsible for economic development.

He emphasized that this initiative builds on other structural actions already in place, such as increased support for SDCs and pedestrianization projects.

In short, this $1.7 million envelope represents more than just financial aid—it reflects a strong political will to build a resilient, equitable local economy that serves all Montréal neighborhoods.
