BIXI Montréal has reached a historic milestone by becoming accessible in all 19 boroughs of the city.

This expansion marks a major step forward for sustainable mobility, territorial equity, and access to active transportation.

With new strategically placed stations, BIXI strengthens its role as a pillar of urban transportation in Montreal.

The BIXI bike-sharing service is celebrating a major achievement: it is now present in every borough of the City of Montreal.

With the addition of eight stations in Pierrefonds-Roxboro and one in L’Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève, BIXI completes its territorial coverage and reaffirms its commitment to democratizing access to active transportation.

“The arrival of BIXI in all boroughs marks a major step forward for territorial equity in mobility,” said Sophie Mauzerolle, the city’s executive committee member responsible for transportation.

“Every citizen, regardless of their neighborhood, should have access to sustainable transportation options.”

BIXI Montréal, a proud ambassador of sustainable mobility, continues to enhance its network with stations located near key attractions and transit hubs

Notable new stations include the beach at Cap-Saint-Jacques Nature Park, Château Pierrefonds Park, the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough hall, and Gérald-Godin College.

Service Popularity and Usage Statistics:

  • Over 10 million trips were recorded in 2024, setting a new record for BIXI.

  • More than 1,000 stations and over 10,000 bikes (including electric bikes) are now available across Greater Montreal.

  • In 2023, nearly 40% of users used BIXI to commute to work or school.

  • The BIXI app has been downloaded by over 500,000 active users, helping riders plan their trips in real time.
